She’d Done So Much, They Built an Entire Platform Just to Organise It

From playing a talking flower on stage to talking about flower pots on Instagram — Ang Cuy’s done it all.

But the problem was her work was scattered everywhere.

At age 4, Ang Cuy made her creative debut as a talking flower in Alice in Wonderland. And since then, she’s tried her hand at almost everything in the creative fields.

Between her stage debut and today, there have been 50+ theatre productions both on and off-stage, international event ceremonies on four continents, a vocal duo with a viral Christmas song, a successful pottery business, her role as President of Victoria’s Music Theatre Guild – not to mention her day job in the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music at the University of Melbourne.

With a resume as diverse as this, how do you show it all?

So Ang Cuy became the perfect test case for Milestones Page – the portfolio platform for creatives.

Theatre

Let’s start with Ang’s theatre work. She’s worked in almost every capacity in amateur theatre all over Melbourne. She’s acted, directed, produced, musical directed, designed sets, designed hair and makeup and everything in between.

Her theatre resume looked like this:

With Milestones Page, there’s a way to make this much more interesting.

The documentation from all these shows existed, so why not show it?

Ang’s mum kept every single program from every show since that talking flower debut. Filed chronologically, and in pristine condition.

There were videos from performances scattered across YouTube channels, Facebook, her phone, old discs, and video tapes.

There were production photos on old hard drives, in Facebook albums from years ago and in family photo albums.

And there were reviews all over the place – some on the internet, some in newspaper cuttings in drawers.

All this stuff was really interesting. It just wasn’t in one place, and it wasn’t findable.

So Ang scanned every program her mum had saved. She hunted down YouTube links to performances and radio interviews. She found production photos across multiple hard drives and social media accounts. She found old links to shows from the Internet Archive.

And she collated it all onto her Milestones Page.

Take Mamma Mia! where she played Rosie with Williamstown Musical Theatre Company in 2022. On her Milestones Page, it’s not just a line on a resume. It’s:

  • The scanned program
  • Promo video of her performing
  • Production photos from the show
  • Links to the company website

All in one place. All linked. All preserved.

When someone at rehearsal reminisces about a show they did together, Ang pulls out her phone. A few seconds of searching and she can show them the program, the photos, everything.

That’s what makes your body of work look as interesting as it actually is.

But for Ang, theatre was only the beginning.

What Do You Say When People Ask What You Do?

Like most creative people, Ang hasn’t just done theatre, she’s tried her hand at dozens of things. So she never knows how to answer this question.

She could start with theatre – where she’s done just about everything. Her next project is the musical director of Newsies Jr which is scheduled for this August.

She could mention that she’s President of the Music Theatre Guild of Victoria, the peak body for amateur musical theatre in Victoria. She’s a Life Member of Williamstown Musical Theatre Company, where she helped launch the junior program that gives young performers their start.

Or she could talk about producing opening and closing ceremonies for World YMCA events – she’s done them in Thailand, London, Denmark, and Kenya, with Canada coming up next. That’s her current gig as a Creative Producer.

Or she could mention her day job as Senior Producer for Artistic Planning at the University of Melbourne’s Faculty of Fine Arts and Music. Before that, she spent 18 years at YMCA Victoria, where she worked in many roles, ultimately as the Executive Manager for Youth Services.

Then there’s The Wild Violets, the professional vocal duo she formed with Naomi Pollock back in 2017. Their Christmas song hit 160,000 views on Facebook and still streams on Spotify. They do corporate events, weddings, private parties reviving retro tunes and reimagining modern classics.

Or The Adventures of Rusty Q. Bananas, a children’s show she created, wrote, composed music for, designed the puppet for, and directed at The 1812 Theatre in 2018. Rusty is “the cutest monkey in the world” who loves bananas and was being pursued by the Evil Monkey Catcher to be put in his zoo. The show sold out its limited run and Rusty has his own website with videos combining puppetry and animation, colouring books, word searches, and a Redbubble store selling merchandise.

And during Melbourne’s 2021 lockdown, when theatre shut down and The Wild Violets couldn’t perform, Ang used her time to work more on pottery as a hobby, eventually turning it into a thriving business called Preston Pottery. She now runs her own pottery studio as well as teaching at two others.

So when someone asks what she does… where does she even start?

Her LinkedIn shows the professional producer work and her university role, but nothing about theatre. Her theatre CV shows the 50+ productions, but not the international ceremonies or the youth program development. The Wild Violets has its own website focused on music bookings. Rusty Q. Bananas has his own site with videos and merch. Preston Pottery has a separate site for the ceramics business. Her Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok are where people tune in to see her yearly advent calendar makeup comparison tradition.

Nothing showed the complete picture. And that black and white resume list certainly didn’t.

Then There’s All the Stuff That Doesn’t Fit Anywhere

Like directing for the Melbourne Comedy Festival. Ang directed The One-Liner Show in 2023 and 2024, a showcase where Melbourne’s one-liner comedians all got together to do a showcase, which was introduced by Australia’s preeminent one-liner comedian Elliot Goblet. Where does that go on a theatre resume? It’s comedy, but it’s not a theatre production. It’s directing, but it’s stand-up.

Or the YMCA Swimming voice-over commercial she did in 2015. The TV sizzle reel (Acting Badly) from 2008. Writing the introduction to a book about the history of amateur theatre in Victoria. That podcast where she played Mrs. Gardiner in Pride and Prejudice, Ballarat National Theatre’s audio production during COVID.

She’s hosted the Bruce Awards (the Music Theatre Guild’s annual awards ceremony) six years running: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025. She’s been a backup singer for an Elvis impersonator recreating Elvis’s last show down to the smallest detail. She produced a documentary about 25 years of YMCA Youth Parliament. She’s done radio interviews on ABC and Southern FM.

👉 See everything she’s done

On LinkedIn? These don’t fit the professional narrative. On a theatre CV? They’re not theatre performances. On The Wild Violets website? They’re definitely not music gigs. On Rusty Q. Bananas’ site? Wrong audience entirely. On a traditional resume, they’re just random lines that make no sense.

On Milestones Page, every single one gets documented with videos, programs, links, audio files, and context.

Why Her Life Story Was Perfect for This

When Milestones Page was being developed, Ang was the ideal test case.

She had decades of theatre work that needed documenting. Multiple stories running simultaneously that didn’t fit on LinkedIn. Random projects scattered everywhere. A resume that was just a typed list with no specific details. Programs and photos buried in boxes. Her work all over the internet. None of it organised, none of it collated.

The platform was built to solve exactly these problems.

Everything Can Be Included

No matter how old the milestone is, it can still be shown.

Even shows from 20+ years ago.

Take That’s Entertainment from 2001 at Williamstown Light Opera Company. On Ang’s Milestones Page you can see a promo from the show, the original program, and a link to the company’s website preserved through The Internet Archive:

More than twenty years later, the documentation still exists – because Ang preserved it.

Audition Prep

Here’s where Milestones Page becomes genuinely practical for someone with a life like Ang’s.

When she’s auditioning for an acting role, she can filter her page to show only her acting work, with character range visible from Lady Bracknell in The Importance of Being Earnest to Gary Coleman in Avenue Q to Rosie in Mamma Mia!. Videos and showreels are attached to the relevant productions. Programs show her cast history. She removes all the directing, production, and pottery work with a click. Export, send, done.

When she’s interviewed for international producer positions, she can send them straight to her page where they can see Thailand 2018, London 2019, Denmark 2022, Kenya 2024, all with videos and documentation.

LinkedIn shows everything mixed together in ways you can’t control. Traditional resumes require manually rebuilding for each application. IMDb only covers film and TV, which is almost none of Ang’s work. Personal websites cost hundreds to thousands to build and are a pain to maintain.

Milestones Page lets you curate decades of work in seconds and back every credit with images, PDFs, videos and links.

Building Pathways

There’s a pattern in how Ang has spent her life: she builds pathways for young people.

At YMCA Victoria, she spent 18 years developing volunteer programs from scratch, creating international internship opportunities, running youth leadership initiatives like Youth Parliament and Future Leaders. When COVID hit and young people were isolated, she built the Digital Youth Space to keep them connected.

In theatre, she launched the junior program at Williamstown Musical Theatre Company. She directs shows specifically for young performers – Aladdin Jr, Frozen Jr, Alice in Wonderland Jr, Dare to Dream Jr. As President of the Music Theatre Guild of Victoria, part of her role is advocating for youth participation and development. When she sits on audition panels, she’s looking for talent to nurture.

Now at the University of Melbourne, she works with emerging artists and the next generation of creative professionals at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music.

The irony is that while she was building all these pathways for others, she didn’t have a good way to document her own milestones. The black and white list didn’t show what she’d actually built. The programs were in boxes. Videos were scattered. But it was inaccessible.

Now it’s all there. The complete picture of someone who’s spent decades creating opportunities for young people while simultaneously maintaining multiple professional lives.

The Lockdown Pivot

When Melbourne went into lockdown in 2021, theatre shut down. The Wild Violets couldn’t perform. YMCA work went fully remote.

Ang started making pottery.

What began as a home studio hobby turned into Preston Pottery – a real business selling small-batch functional homewares. Her signature rainbow pottery range has become incredibly popular.

From her bio: “Whether I’m shaping a show or spinning a pot, I’m always chasing that creative spark – and loving every moment of the ride.”

Even when her usual creative outlets were closed, she found a new one. Preston Pottery is documented on her Milestones Page now too, right alongside the theatre work, the international events, and the music.

Who Else Has This Problem

You might recognize parts of Ang’s situation.

Maybe you’re a performer with scattered credits across decades. Maybe you’re juggling multiple careers that don’t fit on LinkedIn. Maybe you have random projects – that voiceover gig, that podcast appearance – with nowhere logical to put them.

Milestones Page works for anyone with a non-linear creative career:

Performers document every production with videos, programs, and reviews. Musicians show multiple bands, solo work, session credits, and link to Spotify/Bandcamp. Film/TV professionals fill the gaps IMDb misses – student films, indie projects, web series. Event producers document international productions with client testimonials and videos. Artists catalog every piece, gallery show, and commission with links to purchase. Writers list books, articles, scripts with links to published work.

Document what matters. Show it with evidence. Share it however makes sense.

Why Not Just Use LinkedIn?

LinkedIn is built for corporate careers – job titles, companies, dates. You can’t upload theatre programs, organize acting roles separately from directing work, or document that random TV commercial meaningfully. IMDb only handles film/TV. Personal websites cost thousands. Word documents are just typed lists.

Milestones Page costs $67 lifetime. Document everything with programs, videos, photos. Filter by role type. Export as PDF. One platform handling what would otherwise require multiple expensive solutions.

How This Actually Gets Used

Real Scenarios

At theatre rehearsals: Someone says “Didn’t we do a show together?” Ang pulls out her phone, searches their name in her cast history. “2007. Urinetown at Werribee Theatre Company. You played Officer Barrel, I was Little Becky Two Shoes. Here’s the program.” Thirty seconds.

Audition email says: “Send your five most recent comedy roles” → Filter: Comedy + 2019-2025 → Export PDF → Done in 2 minutes

Casting director asks: “What children’s theatre experience do you have?” → Filter: Children’s Theatre → Shows Aladdin Jr, Frozen Jr, Alice in Wonderland Jr, etc. → Send link

Director wants to see range: “Can you handle both comedy and drama?” → Send Milestones Page link → They see comedy (Avenue Q, One-Liner Show) AND drama (Importance of Being Earnest) with video evidence of both

University emails about Musical Director position: → Filter: Musical Director → Export PDF with 15+ credits, programs, recordings → Five minutes

Each audition needs something different. Each gets a custom resume in under 5 minutes.

If This Sounds Familiar

When someone asks “Which show was it?” can you actually answer?

Document what you’ve built. Show it all. Share it from one link.

What Are You Waiting For?

How long does it take you to prepare for an audition right now?

Scanning through old resumes? Googling show names to verify dates? Hunting for that video link? Trying to remember which year you did that show? Rebuilding a custom resume for each casting call?

45 minutes every single time?

And you still forget something. Still send the wrong version. Still can’t find the particular draft you are after.

Meanwhile, that documentation is disappearing:

  • Programs get thrown away
  • Websites die when companies close
  • YouTube channels disappear
  • Hard drives fail
  • You forget which folder has which video

Ang’s mum kept everything in pristine condition. Most of us aren’t that lucky.

Build your database now. Use it for every audition. Forever.
